President Bola Tinubu, has approved the take-off of the first phase of the Consumer Credit Scheme, CCS, starting with members of the Civil Service.
This was disclosed in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Wednesday, in Abuja.
The scheme under the management of the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation will serve as the lifeblood of modern economies, enabling citizens to enhance their quality of life by accessing goods and services upfront and paying responsibly over time.
The CCS will facilitate crucial purchases, such as homes, vehicles, education, and healthcare, essential for stability to pursue their aspirations.
Ngelale said the President believed every hardworking Nigerian should have access to social mobility, while consumer credit plays a pivotal role in achieving the vision.
