House of Representatives Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas has distanced himself from an interview by one of his aides maligning former President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Kirshi, the Speaker said the views expressed in the interview by one of his Advisers remained his personal opinion, as he never authorised him to grant such an interview.

The Adviser, Godfrey Gaiya, had said the former President promoted, rather than fight, corruption.

The statement further noted that the Speaker has a Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, who serves as his spokesman and all official statements from the Speaker come from his spokesman.
