Guinea Calls for Unity, Mutual Support Among West African Nations

The President of National Council for the Transition of Guinea, Rt. Hon. Dr. Dansa Kourouma has emphasised the need for solidarity among West African nations.

Kourouma gave the indication at the ongoing ECOWAS Parliament delocalised meeting, holding in Conakry, Guinea, with the theme “Promoting Healthcare Services and Education in West Africa: The Role of ECOWAS Parliament”.

He expressed satisfaction for the choice of Guinea being considered as appropriate for holding of the proceeding by ECOWAS, describing the show of love as a “recognition of our efforts towards transition and reconstruction*.

Kourouma who highlighted the significance of regional cooperation reiterated the commitment of Guinea to regional cooperation and democratic values.

He affirmed the challenges confronting the region, stressing that the disaffection the regional community experiences could be overcome if there is unity and and mutual support among West African nations.

Kourouma however reiterated Guinea’s commitment to democratic values, inclusivity, and participation in the constitutional reform process.

Participants at the meeting include members of the Joint Committee on Health, Education, Science, and Culture, Telecommunications and Information Technology Commission, and the Industry and Private Sector Commission.
