The Nigerian Export Promotion Council, NEPC has attributed the decline in its Non-Oil Export’s performance in 2023 to Export Reject, political activities among other variables.
The Executive Director, NEPC, Nonye Ayeni who disclosed this in Abuja while presenting the agency’s 2023 Progress Report and Performance in the Non-oil Export Sector of the economy to news men said despite having a huge export volume, the revenue dropped to $4.5 billion last year from $4.8 billion in 2022.
She identified the top twenty products exported in 2023 as Urea, Cocoa Beans, Sesame Seed, Soya Beans and meal, Cashew Nuts and Kernels, Aluminum Ingots, and Hibiscus Flower.
The NEPC boss said Nigeria’s non-oil products made significant impact in the global market in the year under review by penetrating markets across one hundred and twenty-four countries in Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania.
