President Tinubu Receives German Chancellor, Deliberates on Ways to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

President Bola Tinubu says collaboration the German government will add more to the value of Nigeria’s environment.

The President disclosed that his administration will now focus on its objectives, having won all litigation against his victory at the 2023 poll.

President Tinubu stated this at meeting with German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, who presented his proposition on improvement of bilateral ties between both countries, in Abuja, Sunday.

Acknowledging the status of Germany as the largest economy in Europe, the President noted that co-operation with Nigeria, the largest economy in Africa, would yield enormous benefits for both countries.

President Tinubu stated that he was seeking partnership with Germany in the areas of education, power, mineral resources and other opportunities available.

Earlier the German Chancellor, Olaf Schol expressed the country’s readiness to partner with Nigeria, seeking better co-operation in the fields of energy, security, migration, and economy.

Olaf Scholz stressed that apart from oil and gas, Nigeria had been blessed with all aspects of opportunities that would need to be improved upon and put to profitable use.

On recent coups in the West African sub-region, the German Chancellor said the trend was becoming worrisome, noting that they are capable of destabilising peace.

This is the first visit of a Head of Government to Nigeria since the inauguration of President Bola Tinubu.
