The Federal Government says it will mark the Independence Day Anniversary of the Country in a less ceremonial way.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume while fielding questions from state house correspondents after a meeting with Vice President Shettima at the Presidential Villa Abuja said the 63rd Independence anniversary will be celebrated low key.

Meanwhile, the 21-day notice given by Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) leaders to the Federal Government to call its members out on an indefinite strike expires tomorrow.

On this basis, the Secretary to the Government of the federation urged the labour leaders to join hands with the present administration at the federal level and be patient with the President, in his commitment to turn the economy around and make Nigeria a better place for all.

Recall that a 15-Man planning Committee ahead of the nation’s 63rd independence anniversary was inaugurated on Monday.
