FIRST LADY, SANWO-OLU PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR WOMEN IN THE STATE

The wife of the Lagos State Governor, Ibijoke Sanwoolu has pledged the continued support of the state government to the cause of women in the state.

Sanwoolu in her goodwill message at the induction of the new executive officers and award of excellence of the National Council of Women Societies, Lagos State Chapter, stressed the need for women to lift themselves up, support one another, and contribute to the development of the state.

She urged the women to key into developmental projects that would benefit the future leaders in the state.

The Lagos First Lady was at the event decorated by the National President of the Council, Lami Adamu-Lau as the state patron of the council, and also honoured with an award of excellence in recognition of her voluntary service to humanity.

The First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu was also honoured with an award of excellence.

Other awardees included the wife of the former Governor of Lagos, Abimbola Fashola, Former deputy Governor of the state, Adebisi Sosan, wife of the Deputy Governor, Oluremi Hamzat, Lagos State Chief of Staff, Tayo Ayinde, Ganiyu Solomon and mother of the Chief of Staff to the President, Lateefat Gbajabiamila, among others.
