The Lagos state government has stressed the need to adequately educate Nigerians on driving rules, road signs, and appropriate testing before the issuance of driver’s license.
The Deputy Governor, Doctor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat gave the advice while receiving the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Marshal Daudu Biu, on behalf of the Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Doctor Hamzat who noted that such effort would reduce road accidents, and prevent avoidable deaths assured the FRSC of the state government’s cooperation and support in enhancing safety on Lagos roads.
Speaking earlier, Corp Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Daudu Biu, commended the Lagos State government for its cooperation.
He noted that the Corp was in Lagos to meet with other stakeholders to discuss common issues and the way forward on the safety of Nigerian roads.
