Lagos State Ministry of Transportation embark of inspection on parks and garages.

The Enforcement Team of the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation has embarked on an inspection at selected Parks and Garages to ensure the level of compliance of state-owned and public buses, on the implementation of fifty and twenty-five per cent fare reduction order by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the state.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Abdulafiz Toriola, who was represented by the Director Transport Operations, Olasunkanmi Ojoowuro disclosed this while carrying out the exercise at Pen Cinema, Agege, Iyana Ipaja, Ikeja and its environs.

Toriola said the exercise was in line with the directive by Governor Sanwo-Olu on the reduction of transportation fares as part of palliatives to cushion the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria.

He urged transport unions to further comply with the Governor’s directive as well as support the efforts of LASTMA officials on traffic management in the state.

Transport Union officials in Agege, Iyana Ipaja and lkeja which included Unit Chairman of Alausa Secretariat route, Iyabo Akeju, assured they would ensure the directive is fully enforced for the benefit of all.

The Governor had on thirty-first July 2023 announced a fifty percent discount on state-owned buses with effect from second of August.
