The Lagos State Taskforce has carried out a follow-up exercise and mop-up operation at the Lekki Coastal Road.

Chairman of the Agency, Shola Jejeloye, said the exercise aimed to drive home its mandate of creating a serene and habitable environment for residents through the removal of shanties and criminal hideouts.

During the operation, Jejeloye stated that thirty-eight recalcitrant suspects, who thought it was business as usual, were arrested.

He said the makeshift shanties by the roadside were also demolished to ensure free vehicular movement along that route while appealing to roadside traders to move their wares to designated market complexes rather than defacing the streets and roads.

Jejeloye warned all squatters and unscrupulous elements who try to call the bluff of the Agency’s activities to have a rethink and turn a new leaf, or risk being prosecuted.
