The Federal Government says Egypt has opened its borders to Nigerians fleeing conflict-hit Sudan.

In an update shared on Twitter, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, NIDCOM, on Monday said an Air Force plane was already on the ground in Aswan, Egypt, adding that the processing of the first set of evacuees has begun.

The development comes hours after an earlier tweet by NIDCOM, saying the Egyptian border was still not opened for Nigerian students.

It however stated that the Nigeria Air Force was ready with the NAF C 130 having landed at Aswan Airport.
