The Independent National Electoral Commission ,INEC, has postponed governorship and state house of assembly elections scheduled for Saturday, eleventh of March.
In a statement, INEC National Commissioner for Voter Education, Festus Okoye, said the elections would now hold on Saturday, eighteenth of March.
Following the ruling by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, on the reconfiguration of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System ,BVAS, used for the twenty-fifth February Presidential election, Okoye said the Commission met to assess the impact on its preparations for the governorship exercise.
He said political parties would continue their campaigns until midnight of Thursday, sixteenth March, before the new date for the election.
