The Coalition of National Interest Defenders has alleged the State Security Service(DSS) of a plot to frame the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria Godwin Emefiele for terrorism financing.
The Convener of the Coalition Tochukwu Ohazurike while speaking at an international press conference on Monday in Abuja said that the Security agency filed a motion in court accusing the CBN governor of terrorism financing and other crimes it described as economic crimes of national security dimension
The group accused the DSS of not informing the President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari of the investigative report which showed them that Mr Emefiele was a terrorist.
Ohazurike noted that the SSS intercepted credible intelligence about a plot at certain high places in government to stop the CBN governor and his policy to redesign the naira and also put a stop to the cash withdrawal limit policy.
The representative of the Ethnic Youth Leaders Council of Nigeria Meliga Godwin stated that “we must condemn the act of making false allegations against any person”.
Godwin condemn the labeling of the CBN governor as a terrorist by the DSS
He however called for the immediate arrest of the Director General of DSS for acts which he described as treasonable in nature.
