NEPZA to Support Ekiti State Government on Free Zone Scheme

The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority(NEPZA) has pledged its support to the Ekiti State Government on its plan to industrialize the State using the Free Zone Scheme.

The Managing Director of NEPZA Professor Adesoji Adesugba who gave the indication when the Governor of Ekiti State, Abiodun Oyebanji paid a courtesy visit on him, in Abuja stated that with the scheme, Ekiti will become one of the most modern Free Zone in the country.

Adesugba disclosed that the Authority will deploy it’s expertise and give all necessary advise and input in terms of resources available to it in assistance to the state.

On his part, The Governor of Ekiti State, Abiodun Oyebanji noted that one of the pillars of his contract with Ekiti citizens is job creation.

Oyebanji stressed that “a zone of this nature will advance the cause of wealth creation by providing jobs and engaging youths using the platform of technology to drive innovation and productivity”. This he noted would be beneficial to the state and it’s citizens.

According to the Ekiti State Governor, ‘the plan is to create a new city driven by technology and NEPZA has been found as a very strong platform to stand on”.

The Governor expressed the desire of his state to key into NEPZA’s visual free zone platform so that they can help to bring in a lot of anchor tenant that will have their businesses within the zone.
