The State Government has paid compensation of seventy million naira to security officers who died or injured in the line of duty since the inception of the present administration.
Chief of Staff to the Governor, Tayo Ayinde stated this at the presentation of a five million naira cheque to the family of a Rapid Responses Squad officer; Superintendent of Police Oluwatobi Peters who died in active service.
Ayinde said the gesture was one of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s policies in ensuring the welfare of security personnel for effective performance of their duties in protecting lives and properties in the State.
He gave the assurance that the government would ensure the State remained secure and safe with far reaching support to security operatives in the State in 2022 and beyond.
