LAWMA SAYS TARIFF HIKE DUE TO INCREASE IN OPERATION COST.

Lagos State Waste Management Authority says the increase in its tarrif in some parts of the state is to ensure a better service and healthy environment.

Its Managing Director, Ibrahim Odumboni, explained that the reason for the hike in tariff was mainly the increase in operating cost.

According to him, the agency expended thirteen thousand metric tonnes of waste plus on a daily basis, as it could not afford to stop its operation to keeping clean.

The LAWMA Boss, however, said Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu had given subsidy on the tariff which reflected in the charges of the needed areas in the state.
