Russia has expelled a total of eighty-five embassy staff from France, Spain and Italy in response to similar moves by those countries.
The move highlights the damage to relations with leading EU members since it launched its war on Ukraine.
According to the Foreign Ministry, it is ordering out thirty-four diplomatic staff from France, twenty-seven from Spain and twenty-four from Italy.
The three countries are among European nations that have collectively thrown out more than three hundred Russians since the twenty-four February invasion.
