INEC REGISTERS OVER ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND ELIGIBLE VOTERS IN FOURTH QUARTER

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says it registered one hundred and thirty-three thousand, nine hundred and thirty-five additional eligible voters in the Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, in the State as at eighteenth April.

Its Public Affairs Officer in the State, Adenike Oriowo, informed that the figure covered the first week of the fourth quarter of the exercise.

Oriowo said the commission registered twenty-one thousand, eight hundred and eight eligible voters in the first week of the fourth quarter.

She stated that as at the end of the third quarter of the CVR in March, the total number of fresh registrants, who had completed their registration in the state, was one hundred and twelve thousand, one hundred and twelve.

The official, however, said that a total of four hundred thousand and ten applicants visited the commission’s portal for online pre-registration as at week one of the fourth quarter.
