Lagos State Government has urged Captains of industries, corporate organisations, standard estates, individuals to play their roles in achieving a cleaner and healthier city.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu stated this at the commissioning of Adopt-A-Bin programme held at the LAWMA Simpson Transfer Loading Station, Lagos Island.
According to him, the initiative would create more jobs as a source of economic empowerment, noting that recycling has been gaining grounds.
The Governor spoke through Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tunji Bello.
Earlier, while giving an overview of the Adopt-A-Bin programme, LAWMA Managing Director, Ibrahim Odumboni said the new initiative was to promote effective waste management and restore aesthetic beauty to the state.
About forty thousand bins were launched to promote the healthier needs of Lagosians.
