President Bola Tinubu has sworn-in Mrs. Esther Walson-Jack as the new Head of Civil Service of the Federation(HoS).
The swearing-in ceremony was performed by the President shortly, before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting at the presidential Villa, Abuja.
Speaking on service of the outgone HoS, Folashade Olayemi-Esan, President Tinubu commended her for what he described as an exceptional service to the nation.
“We must learn from her, more of her commitment to duty, loyalty and great vision. She served our nation exceptionally well, with distinction guiding the civil service rule, significant transformation and reform.
“Her dedication to enhancing efficiency, transparency, her professionalism has set a high standard for public administration in this country
“As she steps down, we express our deep gratitude for her unwavering commitment and the significant impact she has made in our country. We thank you very much”, he said.
Speaking to newsmen after her inauguration, Mrs. Walson-Jack praised the President for the confidence reposed in her to deem her fit for the exalted position of the Head of Serviceof the country.
She also expressed her gratitude to the outgone HoS for her tutelage and assistance while serving under her.
She assured she would consolidate on the successes of her predecessor to enable innovation and creativity that would promote efficency and effectiveness in the delivery of the present administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
On her part the outgone Head of Service Folashade Olayemi-Esan appreciated President Bola Tinubu for the opportunity he gave her to serve the nation and his guidance through her service.
She however appealed to public servants to realise that their first allegiance is to the nation, while she charged them to always put the progress of the nation ahead of any other thing to ensure Nigeria attains the much desired level of greatness.
Recall that Walson-Jack was appointed in July, to replace the immediate past HoS, Dr. Folasade Olayemi-Esan whose is expected to retire on August 13, 2024.
Present at the swearing-in ceremony were Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila and National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and other cabinet members of FEC.
