The Federal Government has unveiled a new service logo and uniforms for the Nigerian Correctional Service(NCoS) as well as awaiting trial persons, convicted inmates and condemned convicts.
According to the Service, Federal Government approved 7 uniforms which include; Ceremonial dress, Service dress, Mess dress, General Working dress for Mondays, Working dress for Junior Officers, Working dress for Senior Officers, and Operational dress.
While Awaiting trial persons will wearing lemon colour, Convicted inmates have Orange colour uniforms and Condemned convicts uniforms are designed as Orange with bold black check.
While unveiling the Logo in Abuja on Monday, the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola stated that The primary objective of the change in both logo and uniforms is to raise the bow of service delivery.
The Service also launched 7 new operational vehicles to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of it’s personnel.
In his Welcome address, Comptroller General, Nigerian Correctional Service, Haliru Nababa stated that the operational vehicles will enhance the stress free operations for the Service.
The unveiling ceremony was also accompanied with ICT infrastructure, as well the launch of other projects.
