Salami, 4 others Gets Promotion As Directors, as NAICOM Restructures to Boost Efficiency

The Governing Board of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has approved the promotion of five senior management staff as Directors.

The elevation which follows the promotion exercise held on March 27, 2024, was disclosed in a statement by the Commission on Monday, in Abuja.

Among the new directors is the former Head, Corporate Communications and Market Development, Rasaq Salami, who is now the Director, Human Resources and Administration, which is one of the eight newly restructured Directorates in the Commission.

Other staff promoted are Ajibola Bankole, which now becomes Director, Inspectorate Department; Ahmad Adam as Director Innovation and Regulation; Talmiz Usman, Director Legal, Enforcement and Market Development, and Kamaludeen Barde, who is now Director Finance and Accounts

According to the statement, the Governing Board also approved the updated organisational structure of the Commission designed to enhance its efficiency, effectiveness, and adaptability.

The new Directorate include Inspectorate, Supervision, Market Conduct & Complaint Bureau, Innovation and Regulation, Legal, Enforcement & Market Development, Human Resources & Administration, Finance & Accounts as well as
Technology, Strategy & Research.

“The Governing Board also approved the updated organisational structure of the Commission to enhance its efficiency, effectiveness, and adaptability.

“This restructuring ensures that the organisational structure aligns with the Commission’s strategic goals and objectives, aiding the executive management in achieving its mandate.

“The new directorates are:

  1. Inspectorate
  2. Supervision
  3. Market Conduct & Complaint Bureau
  4. Innovation and Regulation
  5. Legal, Enforcement & Market Development
  6. Human Resources & Administration
  7. Finance & Accounts
  8. Technology, Strategy & Research”
