The National Economic Council NEC has appealed to the Organised labour union to suspend it’s planned strike action slated for October 3, 2023, and continue on the path of dialogue with the federal government
The appeal was part of the resolutions reached during the NEC meeting which was presided over by vice president Kashim Shettima, on Thursday at the presidential villa, Abuja.
The Council urged the union to be calm and patient, noting that the implication of another strike action would affect the economy and country negatively.
The NEC also had presentations from special presidential committees on flood impact and assessment ,fiscal and tax reforms and the extent of the palliative distribution across the sub-national levels.
Meanwhile, the office of the accountant General of the federation reports that as at August 31st 2023, the balance in the excess crude account stood at 473,754.57 million dollars.
The stabilization account stands at N34.963 billion Naira while the development of natural resources account balance is N128.330 billion Naira.
