CAN advocates democratic citizenship as focus for governance in Nigeria

The Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN) has said the democratic citizenship should be the focus of all governance at all levels in Nigeria irrespective of religion and ethnicity.

President of CAN, Reverend Daniel Okoh who spoke with the presidential candidates of political parties at an interactive session organized by the CAN on Tuesday in Abuja noted that the Association wants all candidates to clearly understand the concerns of Nigerian Christians worldwide.

The Assistant President of CAN Reverend Stephen Panya-Baba who presented the CAN vision statement and policy issues stated that the greatest aspects of Constitutional incoherence is that followers should create a constitutional order that is suitable for a society with multiple religious believe and practices.

The presidential candidate for Action Alliance Party Hamza Al – Mustapha said the 2023 election must be realistic, free and fair.

Al – Mustapha also called on the church and all religious body to rise against all forms of rigging during elections.

He further affirmed himself confident, courageous and articulate to deliver Nigerians, adding that for anyone who will rule the country, mustang have the knowledge of the country and also have the zeal of the youth at heart.
