NIDS2022: States to showcase investment opportunities


Ahead of the 2022 Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit , NDIS, the Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri- Erewa says each states will be allowed to showcase their investment opportunities and incentives to the participants.

The Chairman of the Commission made this known at a media briefing to unveil activities for the event , in Abuja.

Abike said the NDIS2022 , which is the 5th edition, will give a special session showcasing major investment opportunities in Ondo state , under the theme; ” Develop Ondo 2:0 Hub of investment opportunities” sponsored by the Ondo state government, with a particular focus on the Ondo port development initiative.

She stressed that the summit will focus on selected sectors, including agribusiness, technology, education, healthcare, real estate and infrastructure, others are creative, sport, and entertainment, energy, mining and manufacturing.

” Since the inception , NDIS has recorded many success stories , both in terms of business connections and social impact, with over 3000 participants recorded, 900 business links established and over 200 deals closed”.

” NDIS has come into its own as the leading business networking event for connecting Nigeria business owners and NGO operators with Nigerian Diaspora based investors “.

” It has also provided a platform for the Diaspora community to give back by providing support for several deserving NGOs” she said.

She noted that the investments are going to the grassroots, so there is need to decentralize the concept so as to optimise it to target the right investments.

The summit is planned to hold at the state house, aso presidential Villa , from Tuesday 15th to Thursday 16th November 2022, from 9am to 6pm daily, the event is a hybrid , enabling remote participation via online channels.

The event is to be chaired by the vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo .

The theme for this year’s NDIS is ” Optimising Investment Opportunities for National Development”.
