The Nigeria center for disease control says it has confirmed 31 New Cases of covid 19, on Monday April 11, with Lagos leading the figures, as twenty persons got infected with the disease.
The Minister of state for Health, Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora revealed this at the bi- weekly meeting of the federal ministry of health on covid19 and other infectious disease in Abuja.
The breakdown of the new cases shows Six (6) states, including Lagos (20), Rivers (3), Abia (2), Delta (2), FCT(2) and Kaduna recording 2 cases.
In a similar vein, cases of Lassa Fever seem to be on the rise, with fatality rate hitting 132, representing 19.1% of the 681 confirmed cases.
The minister reiterates that strengthening the National Health system for effective, and affordable delivery of health services to all Nigerians remain paramount to the Federal government.
Also, COVID-19 safety measures have also been revised with effect from April 2022 which include Mask wearing in enclosed environments is strongly recommended, personal discretion is advised in open places amongst others.
As at the time of filing this report, the total number of eligible population fully vaccinated with first and second dose as at 10 April, 2022 is 13,588,718, while for first dose is 23,012,700 and for 2nd dose is 10,727,259 of the total eligible population targeted which is 111,776,503.
